Fruit and vegetable export is a bright spot in the development of the agricultural industry in the period 2022 - 2023
In 2022, the agricultural sector focused on implementing synchronous and effective solutions to adapt to challenges posed by unusual production and business situations. Through great efforts, the whole industry has applied safe, flexible, and creative measures, even changed thinking to overcome difficulties.
As a result, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2022 will reach the highest increase in recent years. GDP growth of the agriculture sector is 2.88%, fisheries are 4.43%, and forestry is 6.13%. The total export turnover of the industry reached over 53.22 billion USD. Notably, the forest coverage rate reached 42.02%, and the rate of communes meeting new rural standards was over 73%.
In 2022, Vietnam has achieved significant success in expanding export markets. Businesses such as exporting mangoes and chicken to Korea, grapefruit, lemons to New Zealand, feathers, bird's nest and bird's nest products, milk and dairy products, durian, sweet potatoes to China, as well as honey to the EU have been negotiated and procedures completed. Also, Vietnam conducted a survey of growing areas and irradiation plants so that fresh grapefruit became the country's 7th fruit allowed to be exported to the US market.
In 2023, the highlight in the Agriculture industry will be fruits and vegetables with an estimated export turnover of nearly 6 billion USD, an increase of 78.6%; rice 4.7 billion USD, up 36.1%; 3.1 billion USD, an increase of 16.7%.
Flexible and drastic financial policies are increasingly promoting the development of high-tech agriculture in Vietnam
To develop high-tech agriculture, the Vietnamese government has applied many regulations and policies. These policies include planning, development plans, infrastructure investment, and land. In particular, financial and credit policies play an important role, creating a great driving force to promote the development of CNC agriculture. Some outstanding financial policies include regulations such as Decree No. 210/2013/ND-CP and Decree No. 57/2018/ND-CP, supporting businesses to invest in agriculture and rural areas. These measures have encouraged businesses to invest in this sector and helped reduce agricultural losses. Thanks to these policies, the application of high technology is increasing and diversifying in agricultural production.
Specifically, the integration of technology into agriculture has helped improve product quality. Using automated irrigation systems, soil sensors, and artificial intelligence in weather risk management ensures that farmers can achieve high yields and better product quality. In addition, the requirement to apply post-harvest technologies to increase productivity and quality, as well as reduce post-harvest fruit loss is also a challenge for fruit production, import, and export businesses in Viet Nam. In that situation, many businesses have proactively applied science and technology to post-harvest agricultural product processing such as investing in preliminary processing, packaging, preservation, and irradiation lines. In particular, export enterprises in the Southern region have many advantages when they have extremely synchronous investments in all production phases. In September 2023, during the AgroViet 2023 international agricultural fair, many businesses brought optimal solutions for post-harvest processing of agricultural products. Among them, GAIA INTERNATIONAL VINA emerged as a great solution company. This is an enterprise of 100% investment capital from Korea, providing advanced solutions in preliminary processing, sorting, packaging, and post-harvest preservation of agricultural products. Ensure the production process is automated, increase productivity, and reduce costs. This technology is also highly appreciated by agricultural industry leaders for its potential and effective application in Vietnam.

Goals and strategies for sustainable agricultural development
The goal of sustainable agricultural development is to change growth thinking. For growth, we need to do well at the present and prepare for the future. Industry linkages, production restructuring, and technology application are important. Besides, the market needs to expand, not only domestically but also internationally. Managing production costs to ensure profitability for farmers is the key. Facing difficulties in the Chinese market, we need to diversify exports and strengthen cooperation between producers and businesses.
In addition, the mindset of sustainable agricultural production, aiming to improve product quality and shaping target markets for different types of agricultural products also increases the competitiveness of Vietnamese products in the international market. In today's context of integration, exporting fruit to markets such as the US, Europe, Korea, Japan... increasingly requires import-export businesses and manufacturers to work together from the very beginning so that the product is guaranteed from planting to packaging.
The fruit tree productivity increases
Thanks to the adoption of agricultural modernization, agricultural productivity has increased significantly. The use of new varieties, effective fertilizers, and smart water management all contribute to increased productivity, thereby meeting the growing demand for fruit supply to the market.

Focus on expanding the production area
Vietnamese agricultural industry not only focuses on improving productivity but also expanding production areas. Diversification of farming areas and effective land use have helped raise land use rates and enhance the ability to supply food to a growing population. According to the report of the General Statistics Office, the area of fruit trees from 2020 - 2022 tends to increase, in 2020 (1,135,200 hectares), in 2021 increasing by 36,300 hectares to 1,171,500 hectares, and in 2022 increasing by 49,900 hectares increased to 1,221,400. These are very encouraging numbers regarding the policy of using agricultural land for fruit trees not only for manufacturers but also for fruit import-export businesses in Vietnam.

Vietnam's agriculture is on a strongly developing path with increased technology and export of agricultural products. The government's financial support policy has promoted innovation and technology application in agricultural production. Businesses like GAIA INTERNATIONAL VINA provide advanced solutions for post-harvest handling of agricultural products.
The goal of sustainable agricultural development sets out a strategy to link industries, improve product quality, and expand exports. Agricultural modernization and expansion of production areas have increased productivity and met the growing demand for fruit supply. Agriculture is becoming an important driving force for economic development and diversifying revenue sources for Vietnam.
